His songs are influenced by the Doors. Pel formed their first band "Bridges" with Magne Furuholmen. When he was 10 he played guitar. In 1991 Pel married Lauren Savoy, with he formed a band called SAVOY in 1995. They met drummer Frode Unneland and bass player Greg Calvert in clubs and asked them to join the band. They made their first album in 1996.
