FERGIE FEAT. WILL.I.AM - Quando Quando Quando

February 5th, 2010

“Quando, Quando, Quando” is an Italian pop song from 1962 written by Tony Remis and Alberto Testa, which came in fourth at that year’s Sanremo fest. American pop revisionist Pat Boone recorded the song the same year, and Engelbert Humperdinck took it to the UK charts. Connie Francis, Cliff Richard, Dieter Thomas Kuhn and Roberto Blanco all adapted it to various parts of the world, and most recently it was heard as a duet between Nelly Furtado and Michael Bublé. Two Black Eyed Peas in a pod, Will.I.Am and Fergie spruce up the tune for Furgeson’s number in “Nine”, the film version of the stage musical based on Fellini’s film “8 1/2″.

CHERYL COLE FEAT. WILL.I.AM - 3 Words

January 21st, 2010

Born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Girls Aloud’s Cheryl Cole was raised in a “heroin-ridden” council estate. Yet interested in dance from an early age, Cole joined the Royal Ballet’s summer school at nine. She also won many modeling competitions, including Boots Group’s Bonniest Baby and Best Looking Girl of Newcastle. Subsequently she appeared in adverts for British Gas and an Eldon Square. Even after landing the GA gig via “Popstars”, Cheryl’s Cinderella story continues to unfold. Not only has she just released her debut solo album, “3 Words”, but Cole also recently signed a £5 million deal to author five romantic novels.

CHERYL COLE FEAT. WILL.I.AM - 3 Words

One fifth of Britain’s biggest girlband - though not the one who tackles the tough notes. A style icon with several prestigious endorsements to her name, and the constantly-scrutinised body shape to prove it. Maybe she was just too famous to be launching a solo career? Or so we said when Victoria Beckham’s “Not Such An Innocent Girl” stalled at - gasp! - No. 6 in ‘01. The future’s looking rosier for Cheryl Cole, whose first solo single, “Fight For This Love”, was last year’s fastest-selling. She follows it with the title song of debut disc, “3 Words”.

WILL.I.AM - It’s A New Day

November 21st, 2008

Talk about timely. Three days after the US presidential election, Black Eyed Pea, producer, and solo artist Will.I.Am dropped the jaunty guitar jam “It’s A New Day” and its viral video (type the title into any search engine for a multitude of links), both of which celebrate the victory of President-Elect Barack Obama and the hope this election gives to millions around the world. The Los Angeles native’s enthusiasm is hardly a surprise, however, as earlier this year Will.I.Am flooded the Internet with videos for the tracks “Yes We Can” and “We Are The Ones” — also featuring many celebrity cameos — in support of Obama’s historic candidacy.

WILL.I.AM - One More Chance

September 12th, 2008

Before rapper Will.i.Am became one of the hottest producers around (never mind the indefatigably popular Black Eyed Peas franchises), he was William James Adams, Jr., another student at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in his hometown of Los Angeles back in the early-’90s. He didn’t get around to launching his i.am signature clothing line until 2005, but Will was slightly busy making a name for himself, first with the Peas, then as a go-to guy with a hook for everyone from Carlos Santana and Ricky Martin, to Mary J. Blige and John Legend. Mr. i.Am doesn’t pussyfoot around on his third solo album, the self-explanatory “Songs About Girls”, which includes “One More Chance”, Will’s plea to his lover to allow him to remix their shaky relationship.
