SHAKIRA FEAT. T-PAIN - She Wolf

October 16th, 2009

shakira-010
“‘She Wolf’ came to me very mysteriously,” Shakira recalls. “I was in the studio in a bad mood that day, then I got inspired and wrote the lyrics and melody in 10 minutes.” The dance-rock fusionist is the best-selling artist in Colombia’s (the country) history, having moved over 60 million albums around the world. And since releasing her first record at 13, the 32-year-old superstar has gained a lifetime of perspective. “I feel much freer now as a woman, a little more in touch with my own desires.” T-Pain also tries to get in touch with the Loba’s desires on this remix.

T-PAIN - Take Your Shirt Off

October 16th, 2009

t-pain-1
A colorful combination of Flava Flav and Parliament/Funkadelic villain Sir Nose d’Voidoffunk, rappa-ternt-singa T-Pain is a character as much as a sound. In real life Pain is Faheem Rasheed Najm, a real-life Muslim American with a real-life family: He’s been with wife Amber since 2003, and together they have three children, daughter Lyriq and sons Muziq and Kaydnz Kodah. Like any normal guy he’s prone to accidents, such as the golf-cart mishap earlier this year that knocked out four of his teeth. And like all of us T-Pain gets his feelings hurt: He took offence to Jay-Z’s “Death Of Auto-Tune”, which alluded to T-Pain’s vocal shortcomings. Tallahassee P’s promised to respond on his next album, “Revolver”, but we don’t think “Take Your Shirt Off” is meant for Jigga.

JESSE MCCARTNEY FEAT. T-PAIN - Body Language

August 28th, 2009

jesse-mccartney-001
Pop singer and actor Jesse McCartney was a child-performer dynamo, singing on Broadway and landing an acting gig on US soap opera “All My Children” before joining his first boyband at 12. Teen-poppers Dream Street scored a Platinum album with their self-titled debut before spinning off the solo careers of Chris Trousdale and McCartney, who started contributing music to children’s films. After collaborating with in-demand producers like Sean Garrett and The Clutch, Jesse co-wrote Leona Lewis‘ mega-hit “Bleeding Love” with Ryan Tedder. T-Pain boosts McCartney up to the big-people table on “Body Language”.

JAMIE FOXX FEAT. T-PAIN, BUSTA RHYMES & LIL’ WAYNE - Blame It

June 5th, 2009

jamie-foxx-1

Comedian/actor Jamie Foxx’s recording career was launched when Kanye West’s “Slow Jamz”, on which Jamie was heavily featured, rose to the top of the charts. He followed that by doing his Ray Charles impersonation on both West’s “Gold Digger” and Ludacris and Field Mob’s “Georgia”, before finding his own voice for the smash album “Unpredictable”. True, that voice often sounds borrowed from his stand-up comedy days–it’s difficult to take straight-faced babymaking lines like “Blame it on the Goose/Got you feeling loose/Blame it on ‘Tron/Got you in the zone” in his ode to social lubrication, “Blame It”.

RICK ROSS FEAT. KANYE WEST, T-PAIN & LIL’ WAYNE - Maybach Music 2

May 29th, 2009

kanye-west-31
Calling his third effort “Deeper Than Rap” is a risky move for Rick Ross, as it’s his first effort since being exposed as a former corrections officer–tantamount to treason in the gangsta game. But the rapper’s ability to steamroll over the listener’s preconceived notions is remarkable, and anyone willing to ignore Ross’ iffy street cred and narrow subject matter (money, women, victory, repeat) will find it a weekend-gangsta album done right. Boss of them all is “Maybach Music 2″, with T-Pain, Kanye West and Lil’ Wayne all in top form.

BUSTA RHYMES FEAT. T-PAIN - Hustler’s Anthem 2009

March 13th, 2009

busta-rhymes-001
One of the most idiosyncratic personalities in rap and possessor of its most recognizable delivery–a halting, reggae-inspired flow with complexity and humor–Busta Rhymes was inspired by fellow Long Island, New Yorkers Eric B. & Rakim and Public Enemy (whose Chuck D bestowed his stage name). He and three friends formed Leaders Of The New School and signed a deal with Elektra Records when Busta was only 17, releasing two albums before Busta Rhymes broke solo with the 1996 hit “Woo-Hah!! Got You All In Check”. “Hustler’s Anthem 2009″ is already the fourth single teasing the much-delayed album “Back To My B.S.”.

JAMIE FOXX FEAT. T-PAIN - Blame It

Comedian/actor Jamie Foxx’s recording career was officially launched when Kanye West’s “Slow Jamz”, on which Jamie was heavily featured, rose to the top of the charts. He followed that by doing his Ray Charles impersonation on both West’s “Gold Digger” and Ludacris and Field Mob’s “Georgia”, before finding his own voice for the smash album “Unpredictable”. True, that voice often sounds borrowed from his stand-up days–it’s difficult to take serious straight-faced babymaking lines like “Blame it on the Goose/Got you feeling loose/Blame it on ‘Tron/Got you in the zone” in his ode to social lubrication, “Blame It” (especially with T-Pain¬ tailgating with “Couple more shots/You’ll open up like a book”)–and he has the vocal chops to do without the Auto-Tune, but Jamie Foxx is known for utilizing all his skills in every performance.

T-PAIN FEAT. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE - Can’t Believe It

November 21st, 2008

t-pain-1
As much known for his wacky appearance — think Flava Flav meets Rick James — as featuring as a guest artist on roughly 38% of hip-hop singles released in ‘07/’08, T-Pain finally gets his big shot with the “Thr33 Ringz” album. The concept “came from people telling me that I’m the ringleader of the game” this time, Pain explains. “I started putting it together with the idea that the circus is just like the music industry.” T-Pain enlists Justin Timberlake to play his usual role on this remix of “Can’t Believe It”.

T-PAIN FEAT. LUDACRIS - Chopped ‘N’ Skrewed

October 3rd, 2008

t-pain-11
Faheem Rasheed Najm, otherwise known to his fans as T-Pain, released his debut album “I’m Sprung” in 2005, selling five million copies. He then released “Epiphany” in 2007 and that album fell shy of his freshman LP, selling around one million copies. His third album, “Thr33 Ringz”, is set to be released later this year. He’s done dozens of collaborations in between with some of Hip-Hops elite, and the single “Chopped ‘N’ Skrewed” is his first single off his third album and it features Ludacris. This album has not been officially released and he’s already gearing up for his fourth album, a rock album entitled “T-Pain Is Dead”! He’s already performed a song from the album, the track “That’s Not Cool”, at an industry event.
