MICHAEL BOLTON FEAT. LADY GAGA - Murder My Heart

November 25th, 2009

Who said Michael Bolton isn’t cutting edge? The 56-year-old AOR crooner says it was actually the bubblicious pop tart herself who first approached him to work together! “My manager and the label tag-teamed me on the phone about writing with a young artist named Lady Gaga who I had never heard of,” the Boltman recalls. “But they were raving–they said that she was a huge fan of mine and wanted to write with me.” Curly was quickly won over: “Less than a minute into ‘Just Dance’ [the first track on Gaga’s ‘The Fame’, I thought ‘this CD is gonna be huge!’ She reminded me of a young Madonna–with more exuberance and emphasis on the art rather than the marketing.” The pair hit it off so well that Lady helps out on the thunder-ballad “Murder My Heart”. Next up, Michael Bolton as gay icon!

MICHAEL BOLTON - Just One Love

September 25th, 2009

Soft-rock/cheasy-listening singer Michael Bolton tried a career as a Joe Coker-style belter in the ’70s under his real name, Michael Bolotin, but nobody was biting. So he fronted the metal band Blackjack at the turn of the ’80s (they opened for Ozzy!), resulting in similar yawns. But refashioned as a blue-eyed soul singer, Bolton and his male-pattern mullet took off, ruling the MOR for the following two decades. It’s been slim pickin’s for The Bolt lately–2006’s “Bolton Swings Sinatra”? But he apparently heard Lionel Richie’s new “Just Go”, because Mike’s new “One World One Love” features collabs with whipper-snappers like Ne-Yo and–no kidding–Lady Gaga.
