JAMIE FOXX FEAT. GUCCI MANE - Speak French

January 12th, 2010

“Lip service, room service / I walk in the club, husbands get nervous,” sings Academy-award-winning-actor-turned-porn-balladeer Jamie Foxx on his new single, “Speak French”, which should put to rest all the racist clichés that black men don’t take to water sports: “I don’t like to kiss / But you so f*ckin’ fine I took that rule off my list.” On the silver screen, Foxx followed last year’s critically lauded star turn as the schizophrenic cello prodigy of “The Soloist” with the vigilante bomb “Law Abiding Citizen”. Next up is the cherubic ensemble comedy “Valentine’s Day”. Musically, the explicit “Body” follows in March.

JAMIE FOXX FEAT. TIMBALAND - I Don’t Need It

May 1st, 2009

Jamie Foxx’s latest disc, “Intuition”, is as star-studded as his ‘05 breakthrough “Unpredictable”, its collection of collaborators and producers (Lil’ Wayne, T.I., the-Dream, T-Pain and Ne-Yo) reading like a release from a singer half his age. Plus, Foxx had a concept. “On my radio show I have this panel, and beautiful women talk about how men with a lot of money aren’t all that,” he explains. “But if a guy has no money, that’s no good either. So I was thinking, ‘What does a woman want?’” Foxx and Timbaland explore this conundrum on “I Don’t Need It”.

JAMIE FOXX FEAT. T-PAIN - Blame It

February 20th, 2009

Comedian/actor Jamie Foxx’s recording career was officially launched when Kanye West’s “Slow Jamz”, on which Jamie was heavily featured, rose to the top of the charts. He followed that by doing his Ray Charles impersonation on both West’s “Gold Digger” and Ludacris and Field Mob’s “Georgia”, before finding his own voice for the smash album “Unpredictable”. True, that voice often sounds borrowed from his stand-up days–it’s difficult to take serious straight-faced babymaking lines like “Blame it on the Goose/Got you feeling loose/Blame it on ‘Tron/Got you in the zone” in his ode to social lubrication, “Blame It” (especially with T-Pain¬ tailgating with “Couple more shots/You’ll open up like a book”)–and he has the vocal chops to do without the Auto-Tune, but Jamie Foxx is known for utilizing all his skills in every performance.

Sartorial paragon Shaffer Chimere Smith goes by Ne-Yo when he’s behind the mic; the object of this tracks’ desire by “Miss Independent” because, among other attractive attributes, she has a job and credit line, and has never stolen anything but Ne-Yo’s heart. “She Got Her Own” is an official remix of that previous single, featuring Fabolous and Jamie Foxx, and will also be available on the Foxx’s new album, “Intuition”.

Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx is also a trained musician. Foxx’s grandmother sat him down in front of a piano for the first time at the age of three. Although Foxx is known more for his acting career, he’s always been involved with musical projects. He released his debut album, “Peep This”, in 1994, followed by his more successful album, “Unpredictable”, which made it to No. 1 on the Billboard charts. Now, Foxx is gearing up to release his third studio album, “Man’s Intuition”, produced by The Dream and Tricky Stewart. The album’s lead single, “Just Like Me”, features American rapper T.I., who has dominated the music charts with his own album, “Paper Trails”.

“Please Excuse My Hands” is the second official single from Plies’ second album, “Definition Of Real”. The track also features Jamie Foxx and The-Dream. In other Plies news, the rapper recently created a non-profit organization that promotes what he called a “more functional, productive and just community.” The Power of Visions project will award two $5,000 US Dollar scholarships to recipients from their native South Florida, USA neighborhoods. One male and one female student will receive the “Somebody Loves You” scholarship, with children of incarcerated parents receiving special consideration. Plies said: “We want to provide those who have been affected by the negative impacts of the prison system with a sense of hope and to let them know that they are not forgotten. No matter what adversities one may face in life, one thing remains true and that is that somebody loves you.” For more details, go to www.pliesworld.com.
