“I called the [new] album ‘Heavy Rotation’ because it’s a phrase that originated with DJs,” explains American R&B singer Anastacia. “And also life can be heavy, but it all turns around. It seemed to be the perfect title for where I’m at in my life.” In the midst of her serious illness, Anastacia found production of the collection came surprisingly easy. “I reckon it’s probably one of the fastest made records ever. I either have to have cancer while making an album or just two days to make it,” she jokes. “Defeated” displays Anastacia’s impressive determination in the face of adversity. And for that we will forgive her rhyming “never be beated” with “can’t be defeated”.
