NOAH AND THE WHALE - Shape Of My Heart

Noah And The Whale are a folk rock band from Twickenham, London, England that formed in 2006. The band mates are Charlie Fink (vocals, guitar), Doug Fink (drums), Tom Hobden (fiddle) and Matt Urby (bass). They’re excited to release their first album “Peaceful The World Lays Me Down” with the single “Shape Of My Heart”. The band cites punk rock and folk as influences for the project. Their named after the title of one of the band’s favourite films, “The Squid and the Whale”, and the name of the director Noah Baumbach. MADCON - Liar

Madcon is a hip-hop group and the name is short for mad conspiracy. The band consists of Tshawe Baqwa (Kapricon) and Yosef Wolde-Mariam (Critical). Kapricon is from Germany and Critical from Norway. The track “Barcelona” from Paperboys featuring Madcon was a massive hit in Norway getting the group equally massive exposure. The single “Liar” is on the band’s second album “So Dark The Con Of Man”. The first single from this album was “Beggin”, and has sold 8 times Norwegian Platinum! Tshawe and Yosef are also hosts of a TV-show called “The Voice of Madcon”. The show airs on the Norwegian music channel “The Voice”.

LUNIK - Do You Love Me

Lunik is trip-hop band from Switzerland that came together in 1997 with Adi Amstutz, Luk Zimmermann, Mats Marti, Walo Müller and Anton Höglhammer. In 1998 singer Rahel “Jaël” Krebs joined the band in and Anton Höglhammer departed. In 1999 they released their debut album “Rumour”, following that project with “Ahead” in 2001with more of a pop direction. The third album “Weather” (2003) was successful in Switzerland, an acoustic approach from Jaël, Luk, and Mats replacing the electronica of the earlier albums allowed the band to gain mainstream attention. In 2008 they released their sixth album, “Lonely Letters”, with the single “Do You Love Me”.

LEON JACKSON - Don’t Call This Love

Leon Jackson is a Scottish singer who won the fourth season of the British televsion talent show “The X Factor” in 2007. His debut album “Right Now” is now being released and the first single is “Don’t Call This Love”. Jackson says: “The song is one I think people will really be able to relate to, it’s about someone who’s been hurt, they don’t want to be deceived anymore and they’re saying to their partner ‘don’t you dare call this love, it’s a really charismatic song and really strong.” Jackson described the album as “a mixture in styles of modern jazz with singer-songwriter elements, and a lot of it is really soulful.”

The bands Arctic Monkeys and The Rascals came together and had a baby, and they named it The Last Shadow Puppets. The band is a side project of Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys and Miles Kane of The Rascals. The two met while on tour with their respective bands, and an instant connection was made. “The Age Of Understatement” is their debut album and entered the UK chart at No. 1. “My Mistakes Were Made For You” is the third single off of their album. Robert James Ritchie’s career started at the age of 11, and after the success of Run-D.M.C. and The Beastie Boys Kid Rock bought his first turntable and started to play at parties. Producer/rapper D-Nice invited an A&R representative from Jive Records to see Ritchie perform. This meeting led to a demo deal, which developed into a full record contract. Against his parents’ wishes, Rock signed the deal at the age of 17. In 1990, Kid Rock released his debut album “Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast”. The first single “Yo Da Lin In The Valley” was banned by the FCC for its fixation on oral sex, and received at the time the largest US non-commercial radio fine of all time at $23,750 USD! The single “Roll On” is off of Kid’s sixth album, Atlantic Records-released “Rock N Roll Jesus”.

KEANE - The Lovers Are Losing

Keane was formed in 1995, but the name Keane didn’t come until 1997. Their first two albums, “Hopes And Fears” and “Under The Iron Sea”, performed well on the UK charts, and both achieved high record sales. British “Q” magazine voted both albums among the best British albums ever. Keane shared that recognition with The Beatles, Oasis and Radiohead. Their third studio album “Perfect Symmetry” was released in July of 2008, and the second single off the album is “The Lovers Are Losing”. For their latest album, Keane enlisted the help of esteemed producers Jon Brion (Rufus Wainwright, Kanye West) and Stuart Price (Madonna, Les Rhythmes Digitales).

Jason Harrow, also known as Kardinal Offishall, is often credited as being Canada’s “Hip-Hop ambassador”. Harrow started rapping at the age of eight and was winning competitions and performing for Nelson Mandela just four years later! The Canadian rapper teamed up with American R&B singer-songwriter Keri Hilson for this version of “Numba 1″. There is another version of the single with Rihanna. The single can be found on his fourth studio album “Not 4 Sale”. The album was produced by Akon and was released under Akon’s label Kon Live.

JOSHUA RADIN - I’d Rather Be With You

Joshua Radin, an American singer-songwriter, was propelled into the spotlight when his friend, actor/filmmaker Zach Braff, featured his song “Winter” on the popular American television show “Scrubs”. Since then, Joshua’s music has been featured on many other Amercan television shows and Radin has performed live on several television talk shows. Joshua recently performed at Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s wedding, and he’s rapidly gaining international notoriety. His latest single, “I’d Rather Be With You”, is taken from his 2008 album, “Simple Times”.
